The incident has sent shockwaves through Nice's Comorian community. Najim Maecha, who heads the Comorian community in southern France, shared that the family had been residing in Nice since approximately 2013, adding a personal dimension to the tragedy.

In response to the disaster, Mayor Estrosi has called for increased security measures. "I've asked the interior minister to deploy security forces to ensure residents' safety and avoid new incidents after this tragedy that's being investigated as potential arson," he stated.
