The Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance Leads Kingdom's Delegation at IDA Summit in Nairobi

In a testament to Morocco's dedication to advancing international development, Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, is representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the 21st Summit of the International Development Association (IDA 21) in Nairobi, Kenya. The summit, jointly organized by the Kenyan government and the World Bank Group, commenced its proceedings on Monday in the Kenyan capital.

The primary focus of the summit is to address the replenishment of IDA's resources and garner support necessary to catalyze investments effectively across the African continent. With several African heads of state and government leaders in attendance, the event aims to articulate the continent's developmental priorities to IDA donors and other partners, advocating for substantially higher levels of financing to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead for Africa's development trajectory.

Accompanying Minister Fettah Alaoui, the Moroccan delegation comprises Mohamed Tarik Bichr, Special Advisor to the Minister; Abdelmajid Mellouki, Coordinator of Relations with the World Bank Group within the Ministry of Economy and Finance; and Ambassador Abderrazzak Laassel, Morocco's Ambassador to Kenya.

Morocco's representation in this pivotal gathering underscores the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable development and promoting economic growth across the African continent. As discussions unfold, Minister Fettah Alaoui is poised to articulate Morocco's vision and advocate for increased international cooperation and investment in vital sectors crucial to the region's prosperity.

The IDA Summit serves as a platform for multilateral dialogue, facilitating the exchange of ideas and strategies to address the pressing developmental challenges facing Africa. By bringing together key stakeholders and decision-makers, the event holds the potential to shape the trajectory of future development initiatives, ensuring that no nation is left behind in the quest for inclusive and sustained progress.
