Agadir launches AI chatbot to transform citizen communication

Agadir has taken a significant step towards digital transformation by announcing plans to implement a Unified Intelligent Command Center (CCIU) with an AI chatbot interface. The city has issued a call for tenders to select a provider for the project, which has a budget exceeding MAD 5 million ($500,000).

Enhancing efficiency through omnichannel communication

The initiative aims to streamline communication between the city and its citizens by introducing a centralized platform that integrates multiple channels, including telephone, email, social media, online chat, SMS, and WhatsApp. This ensures seamless and consistent handling of requests, while enabling complete traceability and better data utilization for decision-making.

The platform is expected to improve operational efficiency by automating repetitive tasks, centralizing data, and providing supervision tools for enhanced productivity. Citizens will benefit from faster response times, personalized services, and a unified user experience.

A strategic approach to modernization

The CCIU will serve as a cornerstone in Agadir’s strategy to modernize its engagement with citizens, partners, and stakeholders. Designed to optimize internal processes and improve service quality, the system will allow for real-time information sharing, task assignments, and case coordination across departments.

In addition to external communication, the system will enhance collaboration within city services such as technical support, disaster management, and economic development. This cross-functional integration is expected to improve workforce efficiency and service delivery.

Compliance and continuous improvement

The platform will adhere to Morocco’s data protection regulations under the National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP) and meet stringent security standards. Performance indicators will be monitored to ensure continuous improvement, aligning with the city’s goal of delivering a citizen-centric, future-ready governance model.

Agadir’s digital transformation initiative reflects a broader trend in Morocco’s adoption of AI-driven solutions, positioning the city as a leader in modern urban management.
