Government Imposes Anti-Dumping Measures on Turkish Electric Ovens
To safeguard domestic industry interests, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties on Turkish electric ovens. This decision follows an investigation initiated in August 2023, which concluded the existence of dumping practices detrimental to the national industry.
The investigation revealed a significant increase in imports of electric ovens from Turkey, adversely affecting both domestic production and consumption. This surge in imports had a notable impact on the prices of locally manufactured electric ovens, as well as on the economic and financial indicators of the national production sector.
Through a detailed analysis, a causal link was established between the increased dumped imports and the injury suffered by the national industry. Consequently, the Ministry has decided to impose provisional anti-dumping duties to protect the interests of the domestic industry. The duty rates will range from 34.05% to 62.07%, depending on the specific product.
Interested parties will have a 15-day period to respond to this measure by submitting their comments and additional information. This step aims to ensure a transparent and fair decision-making process, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of all relevant factors.
The imposition of anti-dumping duties on Turkish electric ovens is a proactive measure undertaken by the government to shield the domestic industry from unfair trade practices and create a level playing field. By addressing the issue of dumping, the authorities aim to foster a competitive environment that promotes the growth and sustainability of the national electric oven manufacturing sector.
As the investigation progresses, the Ministry will continue to monitor the situation closely and make necessary adjustments, if required, based on the evidence gathered and the feedback received from stakeholders. This comprehensive approach underscores the government's commitment to upholding fair trade practices and supporting the interests of the domestic industry.
