Casablanca Schools Shine in Prestigious French Academic Contest
In a remarkable achievement, three schools in Casablanca have excelled in France's esteemed Concours Général des Lycées, an annual competition celebrating academic excellence across disciplines. The awards ceremony, held on July 10 at the Sorbonne in Paris, highlighted the exceptional performance of these institutions.
Lycée Al Jabr led the foreign schools, securing the sixth position overall. Its students earned four accolades, including a second prize and two honorable mentions in Arabic. This success marks it as the top-performing international school in the contest.
Joining Lycée Al Jabr in this achievement, Lycée Léon l’Africain and Lycée Lyautey also claimed top prizes, further underscoring Casablanca's educational prowess.
The competition, renowned for its rigorous challenges, tests students in subjects ranging from classical languages and mathematics to philosophy and vocational fields. Over 24,400 candidates participated this year, with 465 students receiving honors.
While elite Parisian schools such as Lycée Stanislas and Lycée Louis-le-Grand dominated with 25 awards each, Lycée Henry IV and Lycée International in Saint-Germain-en-Laye also stood out with strong performances.
Noteworthy international contenders included the French Lycée of Shanghai and Lycée International Jean Giono in Turin, highlighting the global reach of the competition.
