Protests in Morocco Against Israeli Strikes on Gaza
Hundreds of people gathered across Morocco on Tuesday evening to protest against the recent Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. Major demonstrations took place in cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier, condemning the latest military actions by Israel, which resulted in hundreds of casualties. The protesters, waving Palestinian flags and holding banners calling for an end to the "genocide" or even the "holocaust" in Gaza, chanted anti-normalization slogans and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Following a two-month ceasefire, Israel launched some of the deadliest airstrikes on Gaza since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. Tel Aviv maintains that the resumption of military operations is "essential" for the release of hostages still held by Hamas.
The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza reported Wednesday that the death toll had increased by 970 in just 48 hours following new Israeli strikes.
