Europe stands firm with Ukraine after Trump-Zelensky dispute
European leaders have reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine following a tense exchange between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The disagreement, which unfolded after Trump accused Zelenskyy of being ungrateful and unprepared for peace with Russia, has prompted strong reactions from political figures worldwide.
European Union: Call for New Leadership
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa assured Zelenskyy of continued support, urging him to remain resilient. Meanwhile, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas questioned the U.S.'s leadership role in global affairs, stating that Europe must now step up to lead the free world.
France and Germany Condemn Russian Aggression
French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed that Russia remains the aggressor in the conflict and emphasized the need for continued support to Ukraine.
