Youth Inclusion Takes Center Stage at Rabat Networking Days
The second annual Rabat Networking Days (RND) commenced today, bringing together 45 students from Al Akhawayn University (AUI) with professionals from diverse public institutions and private organizations in Rabat. This groundbreaking event places a strong emphasis on youth inclusion and development, fostering valuable networking opportunities between students and working professionals.
In collaboration with AUI, a primary objective is to expose students to potential career paths while honing their soft skills. Students were organized into groups, each visiting pre-arranged professional organizations to gain insights into their missions and operations.
The first group visited the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CESE), where Secretary General Younes Benakki engaged in a dynamic discussion on the council's societal impact and the involvement of youth in policy discussions. Reflecting on the meeting, Benakki expressed, "It was an engaging session where we highlighted CESE's role in providing crucial recommendations to support Morocco’s development. I was impressed by the students’ thoughtful questions and emphasized the value of building robust connections with the youth."
Visits to the Parliament and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation were also part of the agenda. Project coordinator Chaimae Bourjij stressed the event's significance in broadening students’ professional perspectives beyond their core areas of study. "By exploring a range of options early on, students can discover career paths they’re passionate about," noted Bourjij.
The opening visit culminated in a vibrant networking gala, providing a platform for youth to discuss their future aspirations with supportive mentors. Saturday’s schedule includes tours of newsrooms and visits to culturally significant sites such as the Museum of Maroc Telecom and galleries showcasing contemporary Moroccan artistic talent.
With its second installment, RND continues to build bridges between optimistic students and industries seeking engaged youth to bring fresh perspectives. Its ultimate purpose is to empower Morocco’s future leaders, providing them not only with skills but also a platform to apply these skills towards positive change.
