Women’s Futsal World Cup: Adil Sayeh praises the Atlas Lionesses’ well-deserved qualification
Morocco’s women’s national futsal team has secured a historic place in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Futsal World Cup after a decisive 1–0 victory over Poland. Head coach Adil Sayeh praised his players for what he described as a “fully deserved qualification,” highlighting their resilience and determination throughout the group stage held in the Philippines.
Speaking after the match, Sayeh emphasized that the Atlas Lionesses had shown unwavering confidence despite their unexpected defeat against Argentina in their opening game. He noted that the team recovered quickly, maintained their ambitions, and approached the decisive clash with Poland with the focus needed to overcome a highly competitive European side.
The coach thanked his players for their commitment, stressing that this achievement is the result of more than a year of continuous preparation and collective belief. Sayeh affirmed that the team is determined to push further in the tournament and bring more joy to Moroccan supporters.
The winning goal, scored by Jasmine Demraoui in the 29th minute, allowed Morocco to finish second in Group B with six points. The Atlas Lionesses will now face Spain in the quarterfinals next Monday.
