Ukrainian Drone Attack Ignites Fire at Rostov Oil Depot Amid Escalating Conflict

A Ukrainian drone attack has ignited a fire at an oil depot in the Kamensky district of Russia's Rostov region. The incident, confirmed by local authorities, follows recent similar attacks and comes as tensions continue to escalate in the region. The fire has reportedly damaged several tanks, though there have been no casualties reported. This attack occurs while other tanks remain ablaze at a different Rostov oil depot, which was struck ten days prior.

In addition to this attack, a drone has reportedly targeted an oil products reservoir in Kotelnich, located over 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Regional officials have stated that there were no casualties or fires resulting from this incident. This latest attack on Kotelnich follows previous drone strikes that set several oil tanks on fire at the Glubokinskaya oil depot in Rostov oblast.

Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have reaffirmed their countries' commitment to support Ukraine. During a joint press conference in Berlin, they emphasized their determination to stand by Ukraine as it faces ongoing aggression. Starmer highlighted the significant role both countries play in Ukraine's defense, stressing their shared resolve to support Ukraine’s security and stability.

In other developments, the Russian government has dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's claims about a plan to end the conflict, maintaining its stance on continuing what it terms its "special military operation." The Kremlin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, reiterated Russia's commitment to achieving its goals in Ukraine.

On the ground in Ukraine, a family of four in Donetsk oblast was killed when a Russian warplane dropped a bomb on their home. Additionally, recent Russian attacks on Kryvyi Rih have resulted in casualties and damage, further escalating the humanitarian crisis in the region. The Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office is investigating these incidents as potential war crimes.

As the conflict persists, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska emphasizes the importance of focusing on the future and instilling a sense of hope in the country’s children. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue their operations, with reports of new territorial gains and increased clashes in the Kursk region.

The situation remains fluid as both sides navigate a complex and evolving conflict.
