Two pilots killed in training aircraft crash in Thailand
Two military pilots were killed on Thursday after a training aircraft crashed during a routine flight in northern Thailand, according to local media reports citing the Royal Thai Air Force.
The accident involved an AT-6 two-seat training aircraft that went down in the Jom Thong district of Chiang Mai province while conducting a scheduled training mission. Both pilots on board were pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders quickly secured the crash site, while military authorities launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Initial reports did not indicate whether weather conditions or technical issues played a role.
Training flights are a regular part of pilot preparation within the Royal Thai Air Force, and incidents of this nature are relatively rare. Officials said further details would be released once the investigation progresses.
