Taroudant opens new hemodialysis center to expand healthcare access

The province of Taroudant has inaugurated a new hemodialysis center in the commune of Taliouine, aimed at improving access to specialized healthcare for residents, particularly in rural and mountainous areas.

The facility is part of the national program supporting vulnerable populations, a key component of the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). It was established with an investment of approximately 6 million Moroccan dirhams and seeks to reduce the burden on patients with kidney failure, especially those with limited financial resources, who previously had to travel long distances for dialysis treatment.

The center includes 48 beds and is equipped with 14 dialysis machines, along with additional medical equipment to ensure continuous service, including emergency care. The initiative is expected to enhance the quality of care and reduce social and financial obstacles for patients needing regular hemodialysis.

By bringing specialized medical services closer to local communities, the center reinforces the province’s healthcare capacity and reflects ongoing efforts to improve access to critical health services across Morocco.
