Student admits premeditated attack on teacher in southern France
French judicial authorities have confirmed that a 14-year-old student has admitted to planning an attack that seriously injured a teacher at a middle school in Sanary-sur-Mer, in southern France.
During police questioning, the teenager acknowledged that the act was premeditated and said he acted out of intense anger, according to the public prosecutor in Toulon. Investigators reported that the student had formed the intent earlier in the day before carrying out the assault inside the school.
The victim, a 60-year-old teacher, was seriously injured and remains in a critical condition, prosecutors said in an official statement. The incident has sparked renewed concern in France over school safety and the psychological well-being of students.
Judicial proceedings are ongoing, with authorities focusing on the circumstances that led to the attack as well as the minor’s background. The case has reignited debate over violence in educational settings and the need for prevention measures within schools.
