His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco received His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, at the Royal Palace in Casablanca. This important encounter highlights the enduring trust, cooperation, and fraternity between the two neighboring nations and their peoples.  

During their discussions, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the significant progress achieved in the Moroccan-Mauritanian partnership across various fields. They also reiterated their shared commitment to advancing strategic initiatives that will strengthen ties and foster regional development.  

Key topics included the implementation of strategic projects to enhance connectivity and cooperation. Among these is the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline, a transformative project aimed at bolstering energy infrastructure and integration. Another major initiative discussed focuses on improving access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, underscoring a commitment to regional inclusivity and development.  

The visit was marked by traditional honors upon the arrival of President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani at the Royal Palace. A detachment of the Royal Guard saluted the visiting head of state, followed by the ceremonial offering of milk and dates—a gesture of hospitality and cultural significance.  

This meeting serves as a testament to the strong and evolving relations between Morocco and Mauritania, reflecting their shared vision for a prosperous and interconnected future for their nations and the broader African continent.
