Solemn Closing in Tangier: Medays 2025 leaves its mark on global geopolitics
The city of Tangier concluded, on Saturday, November 29, the 17th edition of the Medays Forum, once again confirming its status as a major international event. Held from November 26 to 29 under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the forum highlighted Morocco’s growing role in global diplomatic dynamics.
This year’s edition, themed “Fractures and Polarization: Reinventing the Global Equation”, brought together heads of state, government officials, geopolitical experts, business leaders, and civil society representatives from over one hundred countries. This record attendance reaffirms the forum’s international appeal and expanding influence.
A Forum That Has Reached Full Maturity
At the close of the event, Brahim Fassi Fihri, President of the Amadeus Institute and Founder of the Medays Forum, reminded the press that the gathering had become “essential” in the global agenda. He emphasized that its maturity stems from the strategic vision and sustained commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which have elevated the forum to the rank of a major international platform for dialogue and reflection.
Fassi Fihri also highlighted UN Security Council Resolution 2797 on the Moroccan Sahara, adopted on October 31, 2025. He stated that the resolution marks “the end of half a century of ambiguity,” by confirming the autonomy proposal as “the only serious, credible, and realistic solution” to the regional dispute. He recalled that more than 120 countries officially support the Moroccan plan and that over 30 consulates have opened in the Southern Provinces, reflecting strong diplomatic backing.
In his opening speech, Fassi Fihri also underlined Morocco’s position as a “balancing power” and a “central actor of the Global South,” advancing with “confidence, sovereignty, resilience, and solidarity.” He praised Moroccan diplomacy as “open, firm, and pragmatic,” at the heart of today’s geopolitical transformations.
Tangier, a Global Laboratory of Ideas and Debate
Over the years, Tangier has established itself as a strategic crossroads for high-level thinking. The 2025 discussions highlighted major issues such as energy security, artificial intelligence, regional tensions, economic transitions, global governance, and climate challenges—topics addressed with clarity and foresight.
A Growing Influence That Strengthens Morocco’s Standing
With this 17th edition, the Medays Forum confirmed that it now goes far beyond the African or Euro-Mediterranean sphere: it has become a truly global platform, open to diverse perspectives and expertise aimed at rethinking global balances.
Driven by the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco continues to assert itself as a key player in international dialogue, a credible partner, and a driver of regional stability. Although Medays 2025 has come to an end, the ideas and recommendations emerging from Tangier are expected to influence global geopolitical debates well beyond its borders.
