Sofyan Amrabat out of Sevilla derby after injury

Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat will miss the highly anticipated Sevilla derby this Sunday, November 30, after sustaining an injury during Betis’ 2-1 Europa League victory against Utrecht on Thursday, November 27.

Amrabat revealed the news after undergoing medical tests at the Luis del Sol Sports City, telling the media outlet El Desmarque: “I am injured.” The incident occurred during an accidental challenge with teammate Isco, which first forced Isco off the pitch. Shortly afterward, Amrabat also had to leave the game, though his condition appeared less severe than his teammate’s.

The timing of the injury is particularly unfortunate, as it rules Amrabat out of one of the season’s most fiercely contested fixtures. His participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) remains uncertain, with medical staff set to monitor his recovery closely in the coming days.
