Soeast launches S08 dm and reports 1500 sales in Morocco

Soeast has marked its first year in the Moroccan market with the announcement of more than 1,500 vehicles sold in under twelve months. The Chinese automotive brand, distributed exclusively by M-Automotiv, positions this milestone as evidence of steady commercial traction in a competitive environment dominated by established international manufacturers and a growing wave of new entrants.

The brand’s entry into Morocco reflects a broader shift in the local automotive landscape. Demand is increasingly shaped by SUVs, hybrid systems, and higher equipment levels at accessible prices. Soeast is targeting this transition with a product strategy built around value, technology integration, and expanded after-sales support. The company is also leveraging M-Automotiv’s existing distribution infrastructure to accelerate its footprint rather than building a network from scratch.

Network expansion remains central to its strategy. Soeast currently operates five sales points across Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, and Fès, with planned openings in Tanger, El Jadida, and Agadir. This rollout is designed to strengthen proximity to customers and reinforce service reliability, factors that strongly influence purchase decisions in Morocco where resale value, maintenance access, and trust in after-sales service remain decisive.

The launch of the S08 dm SUV represents the next phase of the brand’s positioning. The model is a seven-seat plug-in hybrid equipped with the KUNPENG Super Hybrid system, delivering 347 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque. It combines a claimed electric range of over 107 km with a total range that can reach up to 1,000 km. The vehicle also includes a 18.4 kWh LFP battery supplied by CATL, aligning with the growing interest in hybrid solutions as Morocco’s charging infrastructure continues to develop unevenly.

Beyond performance figures, Soeast is emphasizing interior comfort and technology. The S08 dm integrates features such as ventilated and massaging seats, tri-zone climate control, an immersive audio system, and multiple advanced driving aids. Additional elements like a rear passenger control tablet, integrated mini-fridge, and modular seating system aim to position the model closer to a premium family SUV experience than a conventional mid-range vehicle.

M-Automotiv highlights that its broader distribution network includes 32 points of sale and nearly 900 employees across Morocco, supporting over 32,000 annual vehicle sales across its portfolio. This structure is intended to reinforce confidence in newer brands like Soeast, particularly in segments where long warranty coverage plays a critical role. The S08 dm comes with a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty, an 8-year battery warranty, and a 7-year vehicle warranty.

The company now faces the challenge of sustaining momentum in a market where Chinese automotive brands are rapidly increasing their presence. Early sales provide entry-level validation, but long-term success will depend on service quality, customer satisfaction, and the ability to maintain competitiveness as consumer expectations evolve toward electrification and higher specification SUVs.
