Saint-Gobain Sekurit centralizes European automotive glass rework in Kenitra, Morocco
French multinational Saint-Gobain, through its division Saint-Gobain Sekurit, has relocated a significant portion of its European automotive glass rework operations to its facility in Kenitra, Morocco. The move consolidates the Moroccan plant as a central hub for reprocessing windshields, side windows, and rear glass, including units with antennas and embedded electronic modules, for major manufacturers such as Mercedes and Volkswagen.
According to European union sources, nearly 85% of rework flows for specific Mercedes programs, including the Vito, and Volkswagen vehicles destined for Portugal, are now handled in Kenitra. The site manages dimensional control, optical adjustments, technical printing, and electronic integration, ensuring high-level industrial quality before shipping to European assembly lines. This centralization strengthens Kenitra’s strategic role in Saint-Gobain Sekurit’s global operations.
