Russia accuses Europe of undermining U.S.-led peace efforts in Ukraine
Russia on Wednesday accused European governments and media outlets of attempting to derail Washington’s push for a negotiated settlement to the war in Ukraine.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Radio Sputnik that European politicians and major news organizations were launching repeated “information attacks” aimed at obstructing diplomatic momentum.
According to Zakharova, these efforts seek to “block any possibility of a political and diplomatic resolution” to the conflict, at a time when the United States is attempting to revive talks and promote a framework for de-escalation.
She offered no specific examples but insisted that the alleged campaigns were coordinated and frequent. Her comments come as tensions remain high on the battlefield and as Western allies debate the next steps for Ukraine’s support and long-term security.
