Royal Air Maroc expands connectivity with new flight to Catania

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is set to enhance its service offerings with the introduction of a new direct flight linking Casablanca to Catania, a picturesque city on the island of Sicily, Italy. This new route, scheduled to commence on June 28, will operate twice a week on Mondays and Saturdays, utilizing Boeing 737 aircraft.

Flights will depart from Casablanca at 3:20 p.m. local time, arriving in Catania at 7:40 p.m. The return flights from Catania will leave at 8:40 p.m., landing back in Casablanca at 11:35 p.m.

With this addition, RAM expands its Italian destinations to seven, which include Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Venice, Naples, and now Catania. The airline has stated that this new route aims to satisfy the increasing demand from the Moroccan and African communities residing in Italy, alongside Italian tourists eager to discover Morocco's attractions.

The launch of the Casablanca-Catania route not only aligns with RAM's growth strategy but also underscores its commitment to bolstering its presence in Italy, particularly in the southern regions. Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, remarked that this route is pivotal for enhancing connectivity for citizens living in Sicily and presents substantial opportunities for travelers from both Africa and Italy.

Addou emphasized that the flight is part of a broader initiative to introduce several new routes in the near future, aiming to facilitate travel for Moroccans living abroad, especially through Casablanca and northern Moroccan airports. With this new addition, RAM now operates a total of 45 flights per week between Morocco and Italy, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
