Referees face suspension after controversial CSC-JSK match decisions

The Federal Refereeing Commission (CFA) has ruled in favor of JS Kabylie following a highly contentious match against CS Constantine. After a detailed review of the CSC-JSK game, the CFA announced disciplinary measures against the referees involved, citing serious errors that influenced the outcome.

In an official statement, the CFA confirmed the suspension of main referee Houssem Benyahia and VAR official Ghada Mahat until further notice. The penalties were imposed after the commission, led by Mehdi Abid-Charef, met with JS Kabylie representatives to address multiple complaints of blatant mistakes, including three missed penalty calls in favor of the Canaries.

JS Kabylie’s management had strongly criticized what they described as biased refereeing, which they argued compromised the integrity of the match. According to sources close to the CFA, the investigation revealed significant failures, including poor coordination between the head referee and the VAR team.

This decision sends a powerful signal to the refereeing community, highlighting the CFA’s commitment to upholding the championship’s credibility. The commission reiterated that the ruling was not part of a campaign against JS Kabylie but a necessary action to restore trust among clubs. For JS Kabylie, the verdict is timely as they prepare for an important African Champions League clash against Al Ahly in Cairo.
