President Erdoğan presents Türkiye’s electric car Togg to Egypt’s president Sisi
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has offered Türkiye’s domestically produced electric vehicle, Togg, as a symbolic gift to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during an official visit to Cairo, highlighting a renewed phase in bilateral relations between the two countries.
The presentation took place on Wednesday following a signing ceremony and joint press conference between the two leaders. The vehicle, delivered in the “Anatolia” color variant, reflects Türkiye’s ambitions in advanced manufacturing and sustainable mobility.
President Erdoğan and President Sisi, accompanied by Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, were seen inspecting the electric car and posing for photographs at the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace. The gesture underscored Ankara’s intention to showcase its technological capabilities on the international stage.
In a highly symbolic moment, President Sisi later drove the Togg as President Erdoğan headed to the venue hosting the closing session of the Türkiye–Egypt Business Forum. The scene emphasized the economic and industrial dimensions of the renewed cooperation between Ankara and Cairo.
Togg, Türkiye’s first domestically developed electric vehicle, has become a flagship project representing the country’s drive toward technological independence, green innovation, and export-oriented growth.
