Parliament to hold joint session on UN security council resolution 2797
The two chambers of the Moroccan Parliament will hold a joint plenary session on Monday, November 3, 2025, to discuss United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, which addresses Morocco’s national cause.
According to a joint statement from the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, the meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be dedicated to analyzing the latest UN resolution concerning the Sahara issue, a matter of strategic and diplomatic importance for Morocco.
This session comes as Morocco reaffirms its commitment to the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, a plan that has received growing international support. Lawmakers are expected to review the implications of Resolution 2797, express their unified national stance, and highlight Morocco’s diplomatic achievements at the United Nations.
The plenary session will also underline the Parliament’s role in defending Morocco’s territorial integrity and in reinforcing the country’s foreign policy efforts within international institutions.
