Pakistan resumes military operations in Afghanistan after Eid pause
Pakistan has resumed military operations in Afghanistan following a brief pause during the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations, the country's foreign ministry spokesperson confirmed on Thursday.
The conflict between the two neighboring nations began last month, intensifying after a Pakistani airstrike targeted what Kabul described as a drug rehabilitation center, resulting in over 400 fatalities. Pakistan maintains that its strikes were focused on military installations and terrorist support infrastructure, rejecting Taliban and Afghan claims regarding civilian casualties.
Officials said the military campaign continues as part of Islamabad's ongoing security strategy, despite international calls for restraint and dialogue.
