ONCF launches special transport plan for Eid Al-Adha travel peak
Morocco’s National Railway Office (ONCF) has introduced a special travel plan to manage the expected surge in passenger demand during the Eid Al-Adha period, running from May 20 to June 7.
The initiative aims to ensure safe, comfortable, and smooth travel conditions across the national rail network during one of the busiest holiday seasons of the year.
To meet increased demand, ONCF will add extra trains and strengthen services on key routes. High-speed Al Boraq trains will operate hourly between Tangier, Kenitra, Rabat, and Casablanca from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., with additional late services during peak travel days.
Long-distance Al Atlas trains will also see capacity increases and additional departures on major routes such as Marrakech–Casablanca–Fez, Tangier–Fez–Oujda, as well as connections to Oujda, Nador, Khouribga, and Safi.
For suburban traffic, the TNR commuter trains will maintain regular service throughout departure and return periods, with adjustments scheduled on Eid day to reflect reduced demand.
ONCF has also deployed enhanced passenger support measures, including increased assistance and guidance staff in stations and onboard trains. Technical teams will remain fully operational around the clock to ensure network stability and minimize disruptions.
Passengers are encouraged to book round-trip tickets in advance using official channels, including station counters, ticket machines, the ONCF website, mobile application, and partner retail outlets.
Authorities also remind travelers that train frequency will be reduced on the day of Eid and advise passengers to check schedules through official communication platforms.
