OFPPT board approves the 2026 action plan

The Board of Directors of the Office de la Formation Professionnelle et de la Promotion du Travail (OFPPT) has approved the institution’s 2026 action plan and budget during meetings chaired by Minister Younes Sekkouri, in the presence of Director General Loubna Tricha, representatives of employers, employees, and several government departments.

During the sessions, officials reviewed the results achieved in 2024 and outlined the strategic priorities for 2026. The discussions focused on strengthening vocational training programs, improving employability, and supporting Morocco’s major economic projects through skills development.

The minister highlighted the implementation of the national roadmap for vocational training and emphasized the importance of the “TADARROJ” apprenticeship program, which aims to provide young people without formal qualifications access to professional training opportunities leading to recognized diplomas.

The OFPPT also reaffirmed its role in supporting strategic industries, particularly the aeronautics sector. Officials confirmed the continuation of partnerships linked to the development of the Moroccan Academy of Aeronautics in cooperation with Royal Air Maroc.

According to the action plan, the institution will continue expanding and modernizing its training offer in 2026. A total of 65 training programs will be developed, including new and restructured specialties designed to meet labor market demands. The future training portfolio will cover 880 specialties across 19 sectors and 29 sub-sectors.

Particular attention will be given to emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the gaming industry, and the green economy. The initiative reflects Morocco’s efforts to align vocational education with technological and environmental transformations.

The OFPPT network currently includes 511 training establishments with a national capacity exceeding 424,000 seats for the 2026 academic year. Authorities also announced the launch of mobile vocational training caravans intended to improve access to education and employment opportunities in rural and underserved areas.

The institution plans to complete the national network of “Cities of Trades and Skills” in several regions, including Fès-Meknès, Guelmim-Oued Noun, and Drâa-Tafilalet. These modern campuses are designed to provide innovative learning spaces equipped with advanced technologies and practical teaching methods based on “Learning by Doing.”

Digital transformation remains another key priority. The OFPPT intends to reinforce cybersecurity measures, modernize information systems, and continue the digitalization of administrative services, including the dematerialization of diplomas.

In parallel, quality improvement programs will continue through the adoption of international educational management standards and infrastructure modernization projects. Training and professional development for teaching and administrative staff will also be strengthened through thousands of specialized training sessions planned for 2026.

The budget allocated for the implementation of the 2026 action plan is estimated at 6.31 billion Moroccan dirhams. Officials stated that these initiatives aim to improve youth employment opportunities and reinforce the role of vocational training in Morocco’s economic development strategy.
