Netanyahu voices doubts over Iran agreement and warns of forceful response

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed doubts about a potential agreement with Iran, while warning that Israel would respond with overwhelming force if it came under attack.

Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu questioned the prospects of reaching a lasting agreement with Tehran, arguing that tensions in the region could undermine diplomatic efforts. He also referred to developments involving the Strait of Hormuz, a key international maritime route through which a significant share of global energy supplies passes.

Netanyahu said Israel remained committed to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and stressed the importance of close coordination with US President Donald Trump on the issue.

According to the Israeli prime minister, Trump had been clear about his position and the two countries shared a common objective regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Netanyahu also described his latest meeting with Trump at the White House as highly successful, calling it one of the best meetings he had held with the US president.

The discussions between the two leaders reportedly focused on several regional issues, with Iran at the center of their talks. Their positions on how to address the Iranian file have not always been identical, reflecting broader differences over the balance between diplomatic efforts and security measures.
