Nestle expands baby formula recall in France amid toxin concerns
Nestle has announced an expansion of its baby formula recall in France, affecting an additional batch of its Guigoz Optipro Relais 1 (0–6 months) line. The decision follows France’s recent lowering of the maximum permitted threshold for the toxin cereulide.
Nestle France emphasized that its quality standards require the total absence of detectable cereulide in infant milks. The company confirmed that no other Guigoz products are affected and remain safe for consumption.
Cereulide is a bacterial toxin that can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Authorities and the company have urged parents to check affected batch numbers and follow recall instructions to ensure infant safety.
