NATO's senior military official, Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the alliance's Military Committee, has lauded Morocco's steadfast commitment to international security and its critical contributions to combatting regional threats. During his three-day visit to the Kingdom, Bauer praised Morocco's consistent efforts to address security challenges in the region.

In a press conference held in Rabat, Bauer commended Morocco for its dedication to social, political, and economic reforms. He referred to the country as a crucial partner in NATO's collaborative initiatives, emphasizing the strength of the relationship through the Mediterranean Dialogue and other cooperative programs. "NATO is proud to count Morocco among its partners," Bauer stated.

He highlighted Morocco's active participation in NATO exercises and its role in sharing valuable expertise in areas such as counter-terrorism, curbing illegal immigration, and enhancing maritime security. These collaborative efforts, according to Bauer, are essential to address the shared challenges facing NATO members and nations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including extremism, terrorism, and nuclear proliferation.

"While our approaches may differ, turning our diversity into a source of strength is key," Bauer noted, reinforcing NATO's commitment to strengthening ties with regional partners like Morocco. He called for increased collaboration to ensure lasting peace and stability across the region, emphasizing that this goal requires NATO to listen attentively and invest in building human capital and expertise among its partner nations.

As part of his diplomatic tour, Bauer is set to deliver a keynote address at the Royal College of Higher Military Education in Kenitra, where he will elaborate on the topic "NATO Perspectives and Strategies." His visit underscores the alliance's strategic partnership with Morocco and their shared focus on promoting regional security.
