Morocco strengthens its position as a global aerospace manufacturing hub
Morocco continues to reinforce its reputation as one of the world's emerging aerospace manufacturing hubs, supported by sustained investment, a competitive industrial ecosystem, and growing integration into global aviation supply chains.
Over the past two decades, the Kingdom has developed a comprehensive aerospace industry covering manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, engineering, and innovation. The sector now includes more than 155 companies operating across multiple areas of the value chain, including precision machining, sheet metal production, composite materials, electrical wiring systems, surface treatment, and aircraft maintenance.
The industry's expansion has generated exports worth nearly $3 billion, created more than 25,000 skilled jobs, and achieved a local integration rate of around 42%, while maintaining an average annual growth rate of approximately 17%.
Morocco's success is driven by several competitive advantages, including political and economic stability, a strategic location close to European markets, modern industrial and logistics infrastructure, and a highly trained workforce supported by specialized aerospace training institutions.
The country's favorable business environment has attracted major international aerospace companies seeking efficient production bases with access to global markets. As a result, Morocco has become an increasingly important participant in international supply chains serving the civil aviation, space, and defense industries.
As part of its efforts to strengthen its international presence, Morocco is participating in the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow, one of the world's leading aerospace exhibitions held near London. The event provides an opportunity to showcase the country's industrial capabilities and promote its aerospace ecosystem to global manufacturers, investors, and industry leaders.
The Moroccan delegation includes representatives from the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency, leading aerospace manufacturers, innovative startups, the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Group, and specialized aviation training institutions. Their participation aims to attract high-value investments, expand international partnerships, and explore new opportunities in future aerospace and defense programs.
With thousands of exhibitors, official delegations, and decision-makers attending the Farnborough International Airshow, the event serves as a key platform for presenting technological innovations and building strategic collaborations. Morocco's participation reflects its ambition to further strengthen its role as a competitive and reliable partner in the global aerospace industry.
