Morocco Sends Elite Karate Squad to Arab Championship in Jordan

Morocco's karate program is making a strong showing at the Arab Karate Championship, fielding a comprehensive team of accomplished athletes across multiple divisions. The prestigious tournament, hosted in Jordan from December 26-28, features competitors from across the Arab world.

In the technically demanding Kata category, Morocco's representation includes Tijani Lamoum and Adam Rchouq in the men's division, while Aya En-Nesyry and Israe El Kahri will showcase their skills in the women's competition.

The Kumite divisions feature an impressive roster of Moroccan talent. The men's team brings expertise across multiple weight classes, with Mehdi Sriti competing in the -84 kg division, Said Oubaya at -67 kg, Ahmed Haddadi in -60 kg, Wadie Benouri at -61 kg, Rabie Zaoudi in -68 kg, Souhaib Azibou at -57 kg, and Ilyas Laafou in the +70 kg category.

The women's Kumite team is equally formidable, with Doae Choukri competing at -61 kg, Roumayssae Tarikou in -53 kg, Nisrine Brouk at -68 kg, and both Salma Sour and Chaimae Elhayti in the -55 kg division.

The championship brings together top karatekas from across the region, including competitors from Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and host nation Jordan. The event will also feature a meeting of the Arab Karate Federation's media committee, underlining its significance in the regional sporting calendar.
