Morocco's DirectEntreprise platform surpasses 50,000 online company registrations

Morocco has recorded more than 50,300 company creations through its DirectEntreprise digital platform since its launch, marking a significant milestone in the country's ongoing push to modernize its business environment through administrative digitalization. The figures, released by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, reflect growing confidence among entrepreneurs and professionals in the country's reformed registration infrastructure.

DirectEntreprise was first piloted in Rabat in February 2023 under Law 88.17 on the electronic creation and support of businesses, before being rolled out nationwide in March 2025. The platform functions as a unified digital gateway that consolidates all procedures required to establish a company across multiple government institutions into a single interface. Users can complete formalities with the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, the Ministry of Justice through commercial registry courts, the General Secretariat of the Government via the Official Gazette, the General Directorate of Taxes, and the National Social Security Fund, all without needing to visit separate administrative offices. The platform has attracted more than 3,200 registered professionals, including notaries, lawyers, chartered accountants, and certified accountants, who use it to facilitate business registration on behalf of clients. The average processing time for complete applications stands at three days, with some cases resolved in under 24 hours.

The adoption figures underscore how rapidly the platform has been embraced across the country. In 2026, electronic company creation accounted for 44 percent of all newly established businesses in Morocco, covering both digital and traditional registration methods. The adoption rate exceeds 70 percent in several cities, including Fez, Dakhla, Errachidia, El Jadida, Safi, Benslimane, Sidi Bennour, Settat, and Khenifra, demonstrating strong regional uptake well beyond the major urban centers. A satisfaction survey cited by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property found that 94 percent of professionals using the platform reported a positive and seamless experience, a figure that suggests the system has managed to avoid the friction that typically accompanies large-scale digital government transitions.

The DirectEntreprise project is overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Trade through the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, the General Secretariat of the Government, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the General Directorate of Taxes, the Official Gazette, and the National Social Security Fund. The initiative forms part of a broader Moroccan reform agenda aimed at improving the country's ranking in international business climate assessments and attracting greater foreign direct investment. By reducing bureaucratic delays and consolidating administrative procedures into a single digital interface, Morocco is seeking to lower the barriers to formal business creation and encourage more entrepreneurs to operate within the structured economy rather than the informal sector.
