Moroccan Hajj Committee Sets Proposed Fee of $6,639 for Upcoming Hajj Season
In a recent assembly, Morocco’s Hajj Committee proposed that citizens selected through the Hajj lottery for the upcoming pilgrimage should anticipate a fee of approximately MAD 65,000 ($6,639).
The committee convened today in Rabat to assess the conditions for the 2024 Hajj season and to deliberate on the preparations for subsequent years, according to a statement from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
“Following a thorough review of the agenda, the committee has recommended that the selected citizens on the official campaign list for the Hajj season of 1446 AH should pay around 65,000 dirhams,” the statement elaborated.
However, the ministry underscored that the final cost for the next Hajj season is yet to be confirmed, noting that it could fluctuate compared to the fees from the previous year.
The committee also advised that the collection period for Hajj fees will span from September 2 to 20.
Upon completion of the payment process, medical examinations for the pilgrims will commence immediately.
In June of this year, Moroccans participating in the Hajj paid MAD 66,865, equivalent to $6,729.
Previously, in November 2023, the ministry announced an increase in Hajj costs by MAD 3,000 ($3,200).
