Marrakech to host global tourism innovation and investment conference

Morocco will stage the second International Conference on Innovation and Tourism Investment on April 24, 2026 in Marrakech. The event is organized by the Ministère du Tourisme, de l’Artisanat et de l’Économie Sociale et Solidaire and the Société Marocaine d’Ingénierie Touristique in partnership with ONU Tourisme.

The conference aligns with Morocco’s tourism roadmap for 2023 to 2026. Authorities aim to position the country as a leading African hub for innovation and investment. The strategy targets high-value projects that can reshape the national tourism offer and improve long-term competitiveness.

More than 150 participants are expected. The list includes international investors, venture capital funds, business angels, and Moroccan startups. Organizers plan to use the gathering to connect capital with local innovation and accelerate project development across the sector.

The presence of Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais signals strong international engagement. Moroccan officials view this as confirmation of the country’s growing role in tourism investment across Africa. The agenda also reflects a push to integrate technology into tourism services and experiences.

A key moment will be the “Tourism Tech Adventures” awards. The competition will recognize startups in digital services, leisure gaming, and Moroccan gastronomy. Organizers expect the awards to highlight scalable solutions and attract further funding to emerging companies.

Morocco is using the conference to reinforce its tourism model. The focus is on resilience, innovation, and inclusion. Officials aim to strengthen the country’s global position while expanding opportunities for local entrepreneurs and investors.
