Manufacturing industries: Producer prices decline 0.1% in August
The producer price index (PPI) for the "manufacturing industries excluding petroleum refining" sector fell by 0.1% in August 2025 compared with July, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
The decline reflects a drop in prices of 0.2% in the food industry, 0.6% in the clothing industry, and 0.5% in metallurgy, partially offset by a 1.5% increase in machinery and equipment manufacturing.
Meanwhile, the PPI for extractive industries, electricity production and distribution, and water production and distribution remained stable throughout August 2025.
