Lebanese president and first lady celebrate Christmas with presidential palace employees’ children
Over 500 children of employees from the General Directorate of the Presidency and the Presidential Guard Brigade gathered Sunday at the Baabda Presidential Palace in Lebanon to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. President Joseph Aoun and First Lady Neemat Aoun personally distributed gifts to the children during the festive event.
The celebration featured a musical performance by singer Ghinwa, well known for her children’s entertainment shows, followed by a traditional gift-giving session led by Santa Claus. The event aimed to bring joy to the families of presidential staff amid challenging times.
Despite Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, which began in 2019, and the recent impacts of the thirteen-month conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, Lebanese citizens continue to prepare for the holiday season. More than 45 Christmas festivals and markets are being held across the country to mark the end-of-year celebrations.
The presidential festivities highlighted efforts to maintain a sense of community and tradition, offering a joyful occasion for children and families connected to the presidency.
