Iranian missile strikes target Israel after US nuclear site attacks
Iran launched a series of missile strikes against Israel just hours after the United States bombed critical Iranian nuclear facilities. Explosions echoed in major cities including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Sunday, following reports from the Israeli military of incoming Iranian missiles and the activation of air defense systems.
Sirens sounded throughout Israeli cities as emergency responders and local sources confirmed that at least 20 people were wounded. Police in Israel also reported debris from weapons falling near the northern port city of Haifa, where emergency teams were dispatched to the scene.
The cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba have frequently been the focus of Iranian missile attacks. Due to stringent military censorship, detailed information on missile impacts remains limited, but official data confirms over 50 missile strikes across Israel and 25 fatalities since the conflict began on June 13.
Following these attacks, Iran issued warnings of “lasting consequences” after President Donald Trump asserted that US airstrikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear sites in Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz.
Despite these claims, Iran’s National Nuclear Safety System Centre and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported no increase in radiation levels after the US bombings.
