Intuit announces major workforce reduction to strengthen AI strategy
Intuit, the American financial software company known for services related to taxes, accounting, and personal finance, is preparing a significant restructuring plan that includes reducing its global workforce by around 17%. According to reports based on an internal company memo, approximately 3,000 employees could be affected by the decision.
Intuit stated that the move is intended to simplify operations, reduce organizational complexity, and improve the company’s ability to focus on long-term priorities, especially artificial intelligence development.
Chief Executive Officer Sasan Goodarzi reportedly informed employees that the company wants to become more agile and efficient while continuing to invest in advanced digital tools and AI-powered services. The restructuring comes at a time when many major technology firms are reviewing their workforce needs as automation and AI technologies evolve rapidly.
In recent years, Intuit has expanded its investments in artificial intelligence through partnerships with leading AI companies, including OpenAI and Anthropic. These collaborations aim to integrate advanced AI models into Intuit’s financial and accounting platforms to provide more personalized and automated services for users.
The company joins other major technology groups such as Amazon and Block that have also announced workforce reductions while increasing investments in AI technologies and operational efficiency.
Despite the planned layoffs, Intuit continues to position itself as a major player in the digital finance sector, focusing on innovation and the growing role of artificial intelligence in business services.
