IDF claims elimination of key Iranian defense officials
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they successfully targeted senior officials of Iran’s defense establishment in a large-scale air operation across Iran on Saturday. The strikes, conducted with the support of the Israeli Air Force and precise intelligence, focused on multiple military locations in Tehran and other regions.
According to the IDF, several high-ranking Iranian officials were eliminated during the initial strikes, including key figures involved in the country’s strategic and defense planning. Among those reportedly killed were the Secretary of the Iranian Security Council, the Defense Minister, and senior commanders responsible for military operations, nuclear and missile projects, and strategic coordination with the Supreme Leader.
The IDF stated that operations are ongoing in coordination with U.S. military forces to protect Israel and maintain regional security. Officials emphasized that the strikes targeted individuals and infrastructure linked to plans threatening Israeli and regional stability.
Analysts note that these developments represent a significant escalation in the Middle East, raising concerns about potential retaliatory actions and broader regional consequences.
