Honda America recalls over 880,000 vehicles due to rear suspension defect risk

Honda Motor America has announced a large-scale recall affecting more than 880,000 vehicles in the United States due to a potential failure in rear suspension components, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall covers several popular models, including certain versions of the Honda Pilot, Honda Ridgeline, Honda Passport, and Acura MDX. The issue involves the possible failure of rear suspension parts such as the rear control arm, which could negatively affect vehicle handling and control.

According to safety regulators, the defect may increase the risk of accidents or injuries if the suspension components fail during driving. Drivers experiencing the issue could lose stability of the vehicle, especially under certain road conditions.

As part of the corrective action, dealers will inspect the rear subframe and install reinforcement kits where necessary. In some cases, they will repair or replace affected components free of charge to owners.

The recall highlights ongoing safety monitoring in the automotive industry, where manufacturers are required to address mechanical risks promptly to ensure driver and passenger safety.

Honda Motor Co Ltd has stated it is cooperating with regulators to resolve the issue efficiently and minimize inconvenience to customers.
