Gambian President Conveys Message to King Mohammed VI, praising Morocco's Support
In a formal diplomatic exchange, Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, received Mamadou Tangara, the Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, on Monday in Rabat. Tangara bore a written message addressed to King Mohammed VI from Adama Barrow, the President of the Republic of The Gambia.
Following the meeting, Tangara expressed his delight at the excellent relations between Morocco and The Gambia in a press statement. He commended the considerable support provided by the Kingdom, under the leadership of the King, in ensuring the success of the forthcoming Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled for May 4th and 5th in The Gambia.
Tangara reiterated The Gambia's willingness to work hand-in-hand with Morocco to achieve the set objectives for a prosperous, solidary, and stable Africa. He highlighted the importance of the Royal Initiative for the Atlantic, describing it as "a guarantee of stability and prosperity."
Furthermore, the Gambian Foreign Minister seized the opportunity to reaffirm his country's support for Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara region.
