Rabat witnessed the successful conclusion of the 21st national campaign against violence towards women and girls on Monday, led by the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family. This campaign, dedicated to creating an environment that safeguards women and girls from violence, aims to raise awareness and promote collective action against gender-based violence.

Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, Awatif Hayar, presided over the closing ceremony themed "Violence is condemned; let's unite to report it everywhere." This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, coincided with the "UNiTE" campaign (November 25 - December 10), a 16-day activism initiative by the UN to prevent violence against women and girls.

During the event, Minister Hayar highlighted the extensive participation in the campaign, involving 980 activities such as conferences, debates, and awareness programs throughout the Kingdom. More than 72,140 people took part, with 16,434 being men and 55,000 women, showcasing the commitment of women to the cause.

Moreover, the government official emphasized that women's protection is manifested through various public policies and national programs, including the Executive's plan for equality and programs like Forsa and Awrach, facilitating women's economic empowerment.

Minister Hayar also announced the launch of a digital platform for women's enrollment in the "GISSR for Empowerment and Leadership" program, aiming to streamline the empowerment process for women in Morocco. She highlighted that "the launch of this platform aligns with the implementation of royal directives to promote women's conditions and the government program's commitments for 2021-2026 related to increasing women's economic activity."

The program targets women and girls in precarious situations, offering support to develop income-generating project ideas. It also caters to female entrepreneurs and members of women's cooperatives.

The event, attended by representatives from government departments, public institutions, civil society actors, and international organizations, concluded with the signing of partnership agreements between the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, the National Mutual Aid, and counseling and orientation centers for women victims of violence. This collaborative effort reflects a collective commitment to combatting violence and promoting the well-being and empowerment of women in Moroccan society.
