CAF confirms draw date for 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the official draw for the 2026 TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations will take place on Monday, August 10, in Rabat.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. local time, or 5 p.m. GMT, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, where the eight qualified teams will discover their group-stage opponents and the route they will face in the continental tournament.

Eight teams set for the final tournament

The 2026 edition will be hosted by Morocco and will run from October 12 to 21.

The tournament will bring together eight of Africa's leading futsal nations, with the host country joined by Egypt, Libya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Angola and Algeria.

The draw will determine the composition of the groups and provide the first clear picture of the competitive path towards the African title.

Morocco prepares to host continental futsal showcase

The tournament comes as futsal continues to gain visibility across Africa, with the discipline developing both in terms of sporting standards and international recognition.

Morocco, as host nation, will be seeking to make the most of home advantage against a field that includes several established futsal teams. The presence of Algeria and Egypt alongside ambitious sides such as Angola, Mozambique and Zambia should add further competitiveness to the tournament.

CAF expects the competition to contribute to the continued growth and promotion of futsal across the continent.

With the draw now scheduled, attention will turn to the group-stage matchups and the teams' preparations ahead of the October tournament.
