CAF Awards: Doha El Madani delivers another triumph for Morocco
The 2025 CAF Awards, held this Wednesday in Rabat, once again showcased the impressive momentum of Moroccan football. Among the highlights of the evening, one moment stood out above all: Doha El Madani, forward for AS FAR, was named Young African Player of the Year, securing the distinction for the second consecutive year.
The young Moroccan international received her award to a warm and enthusiastic ovation, a reflection of a brilliant season and extraordinary progress. After winning the title in 2024, El Madani once again convinced the jury with her vision of the game, attacking efficiency, and strategic importance within the Rabat-based club, where she continues to deliver top-level performances.
This year’s CAF Awards ceremony — marked by strong Moroccan representation across nearly all categories — confirmed the Kingdom’s growing influence in African football. Both men’s and women’s national teams multiplied nominations, from the Atlas Lionesses, finalists of the 2024 Women’s AFCON, to the U20 Lion Cubs, who recently claimed an unprecedented world title.
But it was El Madani’s victory that captured the attention of the crowd gathered at UM6P in Rabat. At just 19 years old, the AS FAR striker has established herself as one of the brightest emerging talents in African football, reflecting the remarkable progress of Morocco’s youth development system in recent years.
With this new distinction, El Madani joins the rising generation of Moroccan players shining on African and international stages — a trajectory that could soon make her one of the defining faces of women’s football on the continent.
