On February 5th, Buckingham Palace revealed that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer. The palace referred to it as "a form of cancer" without specifying the type. It is known at this stage that it is not prostate cancer, as this was discovered during his treatment for benign prostate enlargement a few days earlier.

King Charles III will temporarily step back from public engagements to focus on his treatment. The palace remains optimistic about the diagnosis, assuring that he will resume his duties as soon as possible. In the meantime, other members of the royal family will provide support and assist in his responsibilities.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his support on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the announcement, stating, "We wish His Majesty a prompt and full recovery. I have no doubt he will be back in full swing in no time, and I know the whole country will wish him well."

Prince Harry, currently residing in the United States with his family, has communicated with his father, King Charles III, after the cancer diagnosis. He plans to visit him in the UK in the coming days, according to sources close to the Duke of Sussex.
