Boujdour Witnesses Launch of Six Urban and Rural Health Centers
In a significant move to enhance healthcare accessibility, Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, inaugurated the services of six urban and rural health centers in Boujdour on Friday. This initiative is part of the government's policy to rehabilitate and equip public healthcare facilities.
The launch ceremony, conducted via videoconference, took place at the "Al Moujahid Mohamed Ben Abdellah" first-level urban health center in Boujdour. Attendees included Abdeslam Bekrate, the Wali (governor) of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region and governor of the Laayoune province, heads of external services, elected officials, and representatives from civil society organizations.
During the event, Ait Taleb unveiled the services of five additional health centers, aimed at ensuring proximity to healthcare services for the population of the province. The targeted population will benefit from the services of the Respiratory Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center, two first-level urban health centers, "Al Aouda" and "Attanmia," as well as two rural dispensaries, "Aftissat" and "Agtti Lghazi."
These new facilities are part of the government's commitment to establishing an appropriate healthcare infrastructure to implement the Royal Directives regarding the universalization of healthcare coverage and social protection, particularly in the construction, rehabilitation, and equipment of primary healthcare facilities.
The health centers, representing a new generation of primary care establishments, will provide a diverse range of health services and treatments, including general medical consultations, nursing care, follow-up for chronic diseases such as tuberculosis, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, and hypertension, as well as maternal and child health monitoring, school health services, and awareness and health education programs.
To ensure the delivery of quality medical and curative services to the population, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has allocated qualified human resources to these centers. Additionally, the centers have been equipped with modern facilities and high-quality biomedical devices.
This initiative underscores the government's dedication to enhancing healthcare accessibility and improving the well-being of citizens across urban and rural areas.
