BDx considers IPO as AI-Driven data centre demand accelerates expansion across Asia
Singapore-based BDx Data Centers is keeping the door open to an initial public offering (IPO) as it seeks fresh capital to expand its footprint across Asia amid surging demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The company says it is evaluating multiple financing options, with future capital needs—rather than a predetermined listing plan—guiding its strategy.
IPO remains one of several funding options
In an interview with Reuters, BDx Chief Executive Officer Mayank Srivastava said the company has not ruled out pursuing a public listing, stressing that every financing avenue remains under consideration.
According to Srivastava, the company's priority is securing the resources needed to support long-term expansion rather than committing to a specific fundraising route.
He added that no timeline has been established for a potential IPO and that BDx has not selected, or excluded, any particular stock exchange for a future listing.
AI boom reshapes the regional data centre market
The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence technologies has significantly increased demand for data centres capable of supporting high-performance computing, cloud services and AI workloads.
This trend is driving a new wave of investment across Asia as operators race to expand capacity and strengthen digital infrastructure.
BDx is positioning itself to capitalize on this momentum by growing its regional presence to meet rising customer demand.
Industry sees growing interest in public markets
The strong outlook for AI infrastructure is encouraging several major data centre operators to explore capital market opportunities.
Australian data centre operator AirTrunk is reportedly evaluating a Singapore listing for a data centre real estate investment trust (REIT), while Philippine telecommunications company PLDT plans to list its VITRO data centre business as a REIT in the Philippines.
The growing interest in IPOs and REIT structures reflects increasing investor appetite for digital infrastructure assets, particularly those expected to benefit from the long-term expansion of artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
As demand for AI-ready facilities continues to rise, access to capital is becoming a strategic priority for operators seeking to scale rapidly across Asia's competitive data centre market.
