Bangkok bar fire death toll rises to 30 as investigation begins

The death toll from a devastating fire at a bar in Bangkok has risen to 30, Thai authorities said on Tuesday, as families gathered to recover the remains of victims and investigators began examining the circumstances behind one of the capital’s deadliest recent fire incidents.

The blaze broke out on Sunday night during a concert at Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, located in the northern part of the city. According to officials from the Chatuchak district, 75 people were injured, including 24 who remain in serious condition.

Victims trapped during concert event

Authorities said many people were inside the venue when the fire spread, leaving some unable to escape because of the rapidly developing flames and heavy smoke.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene to evacuate victims and provide medical assistance. Rescue operations continued as authorities worked to identify those who lost their lives in the disaster.
