Baccalaureate 2024: 493,651 Candidates Set to Tackle Morocco's National Exam

Morocco's highly anticipated national Baccalaureate examination commences today, June 10, 2024, marking the start of a pivotal period for 493,651 candidates vying for academic success. The ordinary session of the exams will span until June 13, 2024, while the resit session is scheduled to take place from July 10 to July 13, 2024. The Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports has announced that the results for the ordinary session will be unveiled on June 26, 2024, with the resit session results to follow on July 19, 2024.

As the exams unfold under the watchful eye of new measures introduced this year, Chakib Benmoussa, the esteemed minister, paid a visit to the Ibn Al Roumi high school examination center in Ain Aouda to oversee the proceedings. This year's Baccalaureate has drawn a staggering 493,651 candidates, with 120,277 registered as private candidates. Notably, students from the private sector account for 13% of the total number of exam takers.

The breakdown by field of study reveals that 64% of candidates are pursuing scientific and technical streams, 35% are enrolled in literary and original fields, and 1% are undertaking professional courses.

To ensure the smooth conduct of these exams, the ministry has meticulously prepared 1,833 examination centers, equipped with 28,549 examination rooms. Furthermore, a formidable force of 49,000 invigilators, 1,833 observers, and 40,000 correctors has been mobilized to oversee the process.

In a testament to its commitment to accessibility, the ministry has curated 765 exam papers for both the ordinary and resit sessions, with 333 of these tailored specifically for candidates with disabilities. Additionally, an electronic guide has been made available to candidates, providing them with comprehensive information on legal aspects, organizational details, and the new features of this year's examination.

Notably, the ministry has implemented several groundbreaking measures to streamline the examination process and ensure utmost transparency. These include a secure transportation strategy for exam papers, eliminating the need for academies to collect them in person, the adoption of an electronic coding system for exam papers, minimizing the risk of material errors, and the integration of national identity card numbers into Baccalaureate diplomas.

As the nation holds its collective breath, this year's Baccalaureate promises to be a testament to the unwavering determination of Morocco's youth and the ministry's commitment to upholding academic excellence and integrity. The stage is set for a monumental academic endeavor that will shape the futures of thousands of aspiring scholars.
