Aziz Akhannouch Engages in Diplomatic Talks with Italian Counterpart in Rome
Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch engaged in a significant diplomatic exchange with Italian President Sergio Mattarella during his visit to Rome on Sunday evening, where he participated in the 'Italy-Africa: Bridge for Common Growth' Summit alongside other African leaders.
The rendezvous between Akhannouch and the esteemed dignitaries took place at the presidential palace, where they convened for a reception hosted by President Mattarella and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. This elegant affair marked the conclusion of the summit's inaugural day, which was dedicated to bolstering economic bonds between Italy and African nations.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Prime Minister Akhannouch remarked, "It was an honor to engage with President Mattarella and reaffirm Morocco's strategic alliance with Italy. Together, we can foster connectivity, both literal and symbolic, to invigorate trade, investment, and cooperation among African states."
The summit, spanning two days, has attracted top-tier politicians and business magnates to deliberate on investment prospects and mutual development initiatives across the Mediterranean region. Prime Minister Akhannouch is slated to deliver a keynote address spotlighting Morocco's stability and its allure for Italian investors.
Amidst the opulent backdrop of Rome and the warm hospitality extended by the Italian hosts, the rendezvous between the Italian leadership and African dignitaries has set an optimistic tone for enhanced collaboration in the years ahead, particularly in 2023 and beyond.
